Bleacher Report’s Expert Consensus Week 13 NFL Picks

Can this get any easier? Based on how Bleacher Report’s expert NFL analysts are faring this year, it surely can’t get much harder.
Picking at every match, Brad Gagnon, Gary Davenport and Brent Sobleski had another challenging streak in Week 12, falling their record to 251-259-18. Individually and as a crew, here’s the damage through 12 weeks (a week’s records in parentheses):
1. Gary Davenport: 92-78-6 (7-8)
2. Brent Sobleski: 81-89-6 (7-8)
3. Brad Gagnon: 78-92-6 (5-10)
Consensus choices: 83-87-6 (7-8)
Together with December loomingwe requested longtime sports gambling advisor Dave Tuley if there could be some light at the end of the tube to the gambling public or if the sportsbooks will continue to gain from larger samples late in the summer season.
Tuley gave us some hope, but not enough to get.
«There was a period under a dozen years back where I had a bunch of years in a row where I just killed it the second half of the year and in December,» he said. «At the moment, I felt like it was just the time of year when the great teams were being overrated and the terrible teams were being underrated, and with parity what it had been, the underdogs were doing a lot better at that time.»
But Tuley notes that neither the books nor the bettors have struck advantages . «As much as bettors wish to believe that we are becoming smarter the more people see these teams play,» he said,»obviously the oddsmakers are seeing the same things we are, and they are adjusting and which makes it tough also.»
However, he believes it’s likely to pick out lines which have been exaggerated by midseason slumps. Specifically, he pointed in the 7.5-point distribute in favor of the New Orleans Saints in a road matchup with the NFC East-leading Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night.
With that line, oddsmakers are indicating the Saints would be preferred by as many as 13 or 14 points if that game were in New Orleans, which will appear high considering that the Cowboys are riding a three-game winning streak.
«That is [a manifestation of] the way the Saints have been enjoying,» Tuley said. «For the novels to balance their actions, they must put it at that number.»
It’s something to keep in mind as we enter the final month of the 2018 season. It may not save your season as a bettor, but if you’ve been following us any guidance helps.
Here’s what Gagnon, Davenport and Sobleski are considering heading to the initial 16-game slate in two or more months.
