Jonny Cooper red card: Sky Sports panel’s verdict on the Dublin player’s dismissal

Jonny Cooper’s dismissal from the first half this All-Ireland closing changed the complicated of the decider, and together with the numerical edge, Kerry fought back in the second half to save a draw.
The Sky Sports panel were in arrangement referee David Gough made the choice, although like every red card on such a large point, it had been subject to disagreement.
«Jonny is a combative participant, we know that,» stated ex-Dublin celebrity Senan Connell.
«He likes to make contact. He’s very aggressive in the attack. There ought to have been a telephone to shoot off him.

Peter Canavan agreed, implying the Dublin direction should have transferred the Na Fianna guard off David Clifford.
«Right awayhe needed to be taken off him [Clifford], because Jonny Cooper can not perform any other way but be full-blooded and strike the ball,» said Canavan.
«But we are waiting for many years now to see Jim Gavin show some signs of complacency — did he have too much trust in Jonny Cooper? Why didn’t he proceed Michael Fitzsimons ? David Clifford was playing very well.»
Sky Sports’ sideline reporter Damian Lawlor additional the thought-process of Gough and circumstance:
Lawlor said:»I have been connected up to this referee David Gough during the match, and to be fair to himwhile it was a tough choice for him to make within an All-Ireland closing, he had warned Jonny Cooper three occasions throughout the first half of repeat infringements happening»
Actually Cooper’s dismissal was just two yellow cards rather than a straight red means that he will be free to play in the replay.
