Newq York Jets wide receiver Quincy Enunwa out for season with serious neck injury

New York Jets wide receiver Quincy Enunwa will miss the remainder of the season after sustaining his next serious neck injury head coach Adam Gase announced.
Before registering a four-year, $36m contract extension in December, enunwa, who sat out the entire 2017 season because of an neck, also missed five games in 2018 due to ankle injuries.
The Enunwa had just one catch for minus-4 metres in New York’s 17-16 season-opening loss to Buffalo on Sunday.
Gase stated the Jets»discovered the following day following the match» about Enunwa’s injury when he informed the group he»did not feel right after the match.»
«You lose a rookie, you lose a guy who’s a veteran player who has been through a good deal, that’s done a lot of good things,» Gase explained.
«He’s done everything you could ask a guy to do. He tries to do everything right. He works hard, he analyzes, he tries to lead by example if he must and that he speaks up. The way he performs , everything was barbarous and he gives everything he has.
«I really feel for himjust in the aspect of everything he’s going through with anything similar to this. It is not something that’s simple for guys who have already been doing this their whole life»
The Jets prepared with New England to get Demaryius Thomas, who’ll join Jamison Crowder and Robby Anderson from the team’s wide receiver ranks.
New York sent its AFC East competition a choice. He also spent five seasons coaching Thomas with the Denver Broncos, three because his position coach (2010-12) and 2 as his offensive coordinator (2013-14).
Gase told me he expected Thomas to play Monday night from Cleveland (0-1), assuming the 31-year-old moves his physical.
As being chosen in the sixth round the 2014 NFL Draft enunwa has listed 1,617 receiving yards 119 receptions and five touchdowns in 40 career games.
