Pick Six: Neil Reynolds picks six storylines from NFL week 1

That’s the full Sunday in the books and, like always, it served up plenty of talking points. Here are my views about performances and the big storylines.
For months we have eagerly anticipated the unveiling of a Cleveland Browns team laden with superstars such as quarterback Baker Mayfield, recipients Odell Beckham Jr. along with Jarvis Landry; and defensive stud Myles Garrett. The Tennessee Titans — their week-one competitions — were supposed to be and weren’t supposed to fly to Cleveland to make the amounts up.
However, the visitors handily and won by a 43-13 scoreline. The Browns were stifled. However, what was even more worrying was that Cleveland did just as much to conquer on themselves, committing a shocking 18 penalties. New head coach Freddie Kitchens has a week to get his team — that still needs to know how to win with discipline — straightened out
NBC Sports’ Peter King informed me Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson did very little running through training camp and joined our policy at halftime of our second game on Sunday. Bear in mind, 2018 Jackson rushed an average of 17 times per game while only throwing in the area of 21 or 22 moves. His departure left much to be desired as a beginner but not on Sunday night.
At a 59-10 shellacking of this Miami Dolphins, Lamar struck on 17 of 20 attempts for yards and five touchdowns. We will need to see more because the Dolphins might be the worst team in the league although it turned out to be a spectacular showing. It was simple for the Ravens that backup passer Robert Griffin III came from the seat and proceeded six of six for 55 yards and one score.
The Kyler Murray experience did not look like being a great one just like stubbing their fur against the Detroit 25, as the Arizona Cardinals appeared. Murray struggled from the early going — by completing only seven 18 passes for 49 yards and one interception, he started.
Since the Lions took charge of the game, the required three sacks. But he balled out as the Cardinals and Detroit played woke up at the fourth quarter. The Cardinals are, by no way, currently going to be a quick fix but there is definitely hope for the future given how their rookie quarterback improved his performance and awakened.
There has rightly been a gnashing of teeth when it has to do with the Indianapolis Colts and the Los Angeles Chargers. The Colts lost celebrity quarterback Andrew Luck to retirement two weeks prior to the start of the season along with the Chargers went without banged-up safety Derwin James tackle Russell Okung and holdout running Melvin Gordon back.
Since the Chargers appeared as 30-24 winners at overtime, courtesy of 3 Austin Ekeler 22, both teams played well on Sunday. Because he subs because of his ekeler is breaking up Gordon leverage. While neither group was perfect, I think they showed they’re capable of being playoff contenders this season.
There were two observations that could be produced about the Dallas Cowboys crime. One was that so much of the assault was predictable and paled compared to attacks.
The other was that most of the crime would, quite rightly, run through celebrity rusher Ezekiel Elliott. Because the quarterback threw for 405 yards and four touchdowns but it had been the Dak Prescott show. New offensive coordinator Kellen Moore dialed a game plan up, which makes the Dallas crime one worth monitoring indeed in the forthcoming months.
No Hall of Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski? No beginning center David Andrews who is out injured for the year? No issue for a New England Patriots team that hammered the Pittsburgh Steelers 33-3 on Sunday night. This one wasn’t the Steelers and a contest, dare I mention it, seemed like they missed celebrities that were departed and troubled Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell.
Running James Conner carried 10 times for 21 yards against a dominant New England defense, whilst JuJu Smith-Schuster had six catches for 78 yards. The Pats quarterback Tom Brady sublime and were both imperious. He threw for 341 yards and three touchdowns and the wealthy are about to get richer. Antonio Brown is on his way. I am writing my opening Patriots links to your Super Bowl in Miami today to get in front of the game!
